Thin privilege is the slogan “Strong is the new skinny”  but none of the motivational ads (click) show anyone above a size 4 or 6.

This is not really a submission, but it doesn’t fall under the ask title.

Tonight at my place of employment, where I am a front end cashier, I had a mother and daughter come through my till, they were looking at the magazines and came across one of Kim Kardashian (who isn’t super skinny at the best of times and still looks amazing even pregnant). The daughter was like “Ohmigod, she’s so f*cking fat, ew, why is she on the cover?” The mother didn’t say much, and they dropped a scale, aptly named “Thinner”, and the magazine on my register belt. The girl was still going on and on about how “fat” Kim looked. I casually said “You know she’s pregnant, right? She needs to gain weight to carry her baby.” and the girl retorted, “She’s still fat and ugly looking, she shouldn’t be on any cover until she loses the weight” and motioned at the scale. I rang them through and silently wished that they dropped the scale on the floor and it broke. But alas, that didn’t happen.
